Another away win in WRU Plate

                                                                           Bonymaen 31Aberavon Quins 22In a thrilling encounter the Quins were toppled from the leading spot of Division 1 West Central with that position taken by the victors.Bonymaen were quickly into their stride and Fly half Ian Brooks spotted a miss matchin mid field and knifed his way over between the posts, He had no problem with the conversion, The Quins eight showed immediate superiority in the set scrums and battled hard in the line out. Marc Sheppard closed the gap with a penalty after some strong runs from winger Jordan Condon and centre Ryan Pugh, Fly half Brooks was in great form and was at the head of all things good for Bonymaen and his name sake Nathan Brooks outstripped the Quins defenders for a corner try, The Quins hit back with some good attacking play and Cooksley and Sheppard kicked well as play swungfrom end to end at a breathless pace. Sheppard slotted a second penalty and the Quins were pressing hard against the resolute home defence and were unlucky to be thwarted as a collapsed retreating scrum was reset three times before Bonymaen were awarded a penalty and gained some respite. Sheppard added two penalties to make it level twelve all at the break.The second half continued in the same vein as attack and counter attack provided hightempo rugby.Condon gave the Quins supporters a chance to celebrate when he capped a fine performance by making an interception from half way and sprinted over. Sheppard converted and almost on the stroke of time used post and crossbar to stretch the lead. Bonymaen hit back and charged down kick bounced kindly and in the gathering  gloom Sholter crossed in the corner. Onlookers were astonished as the ref allowed time for the restart and Brooks kicked cleverly to put the Quins on the back foot and not content with a losing bonus point the visitors tried to mount a final attack which floundered gifting a simple try and a conversion leaving them to leave empty handed for the first time this season.
