The Quins proved too strong for a spirited Seven Sisters recording a bonus point win.
Smart work by Con O’Callaghan and a deft kick through by Marc Sheppard resulted in a try for Nathan Flynn, Sheppard converted, making the Quins seven points up in two minutes..
A charged down kick put seven on the attack and a spate of penalties forced the Quins into defence mode and Cox marshalled the line out defence well. Dylan MacLachlan gave an eye-catching performance throughout with some barnstorming runs. Liam Oates was another who stood out in the early exchanges. The Quins returned to the attack hammered at the visitors’ line but seven stood firm and it was Sheppard who stretched the lead with a penalty goal. The Quins were penalised many times to the puzzlement of the players. Winger Lewis Cronin combined with hooker Tyler Hopkins in a promising attack but was halted by a penalty
Ieuan Eltham closed the gap with a penalty goal which was soon matched by Sheppard. Oates and Mike Burgess featured well in an attack which Ryan Pugh finished in fine style and with Sheppard forced off by an injury Pugh converted his own try. The Quins threatened to swamp the visitors but were thwarted by penalties and the waving of two yellow cards allowing Eltham his second penalty
The Quins thirteen men however still attacked and some clever running from Foard Cooksley and Cronin resulted in Cooksley scoring a dazzling try converted by Pugh. Just before the break the outstanding Kyle Davies scored a spectacular try for Seven Sisters. Making it 27-11 to the Quins at the break.
The Quins attacked from the restart and the strong running MacLachlan smashed his way forward time and time again and skipper Dan Morgan also enjoyed a few gallops. Pugh added a penalty before the Quins suffered a third yellow card reducing them briefly to twelve men. Some good kicking from Pugh and Cooksley set up a line out close in and the Quins pack mauled their way over for Dale Bowen to score. Seven hit back with Davies’ second try as spectacular as his first Eltham converted but as the Quins were again a full compliment, O’Callaghan and Cooksley combined well and replacement winger Jake Flynn scampered over to score, Pugh converted. The Seven sisters pack had their moment in the sun and replacement hooker Dewi Phillips scored from close range, Eltham converted. Cronin then in the closing moment followed his fly hack and outstripped the defence to score a try converted by Pugh.
