Aberavon Quins 20 Nantymoel 0

Overall it was a frustrating, low key, low scoring affair with the Quins never under threat of losing. In the first half Quins raced into a 17-0 lead through good tries from Kyle Williams in the left hand corner and Marc Sheppard on the right both of which were kicked by Sheppard who added a penalty. Quins, completely dominant at the scrum, still managed to squander a number of excellent scoring chances with the line very much at their mercy to extend their lead and in doing so, somehow managed to keep Nantymoel in the game.

Excellent scrambling defence from Colarusso, who raced back to haul down a breakaway Nantymoel runner benefitting from an intercepted pass on his own 22, kept the score to nil in the first half.

In the second half Nantymoel huffed and puffed, worked hard but never really looked like breaking down a resolute and pretty well organised Quins defence. Luke Davies' yellow card disrupted the Quins shape in the second half but Sheppard kicked another penalty in front of the posts following a Nantymoel misdemeanour to bring the final score to 20-0.

Quins now proceed to the next round but won't be going much further unless they buck up their ideas and turn the incessant chatter off.
