MORRISTON 18     ABERAVON QUINS 22
The Quins got to a poor start when they failed to secure the Morriston kick off and were subjected to immense power from the home side. Several waves of attack forced the Quins on the defensive and eventually it was fly half Corry Evans that sprinted over unopposed for a corner try. The Quins settled in and their pack gained the upper hand forcing a rash of penalties one of which was goaled by Scott Roberts. Morriston hit back in like fashion for an 8-3 lead. Injury to Brennan brought on Owen Kennerley at scrum half moving Rhys Edmunds into the centre. The scores were levelled when a deft kick from fly half Cronin caused trouble for the Morriston defenders and Edmunds hacked the loose ball ahead and showed great speed to win the race for a corner try.
Club captain Dale Bowen came off the bench to make his 150th first team appearance and the Quins eight continued to dominate with stand out performances from Nathan Robins and Jake Price. Great lineout work from Beynon and Jack Davies secured possession and it was from a Beynon take near the home line resulted in Maclachlan burrowing his way over for a try converted by Roberts.
Morriston hit back with some spectacular combined moves forcing the Quins into defending which bordered on the heroic. Winger Jack Witts was spectacularly out weighed by his opposite number  but the Quins man brought  his man down repeatedly in a brave  display and also ran strongly when in possession. On the other wing Elliot Graham was also a stern defender always willing to counter attack.
Morriston closed the gap with a penalty shot but the Quins stretched their lead through a second Maclachlan try from close quarters and Scott Roberts’ conversion took his season total to 100 points.
To their credit the home side hit back in dazzling style and a converted try narrowed the gap but the Quins held out grimly to take the honours and  keep their 100% record.
A good win with the defence of the Quins a vital factor. Youngsters Jack Davies and Morgan Hibbard  proved to be stars of the future and blended well with the more established Helson and tearaway hooker Hopkins.
